About

I am an epidemiologist and public policy researcher at the RAND Corporation.  Broadly, I am interested in how the physical environment affects public health.  Specifically, my research has examined the health impacts of environmental air pollution and weather.  I am also interested in how humans process scientific information to make decisions related to health and the environment.

I completed a Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) in Epidemiology and Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2011.  I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Earth Institute and the Climate and Health Program at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University from 2011 to 2013.  I also hold degrees in engineering and public health from Stevens Institute of Technology and Rutgers University.

In my spare time, I am an avid yoga practitioner and traveler.  The above photo was taken at the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon during a 2015 visit to Iceland.
